Bluesmart Announces a Larger Version of Its Smart Luggage

The Bluesmart Check-in Will Be Exclusively Previewed at CES and Available for Pre-Order in Spring 2016

/EINPresswire.com/ -- LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwired) -- 01/06/16 -- Bluesmart, creators of the world's first smart luggage, will give The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) attendees a first glimpse of one of the most sought-after travel innovations for 2016: the Bluesmart Check-in. The smart capabilities and iconic design elements of its first product, the Bluesmart Carry-on, will soon come to life in a larger version optimized for travelers with luggage checked domestically or internationally.

The Bluesmart Check-in uses smart technology that provides people with the ultimate in hassle-free traveling, including real-time location tracking, remote locking system, built-in weight sensor and companion mobile app.

"As the world's first smart luggage provider, Bluesmart has solved many of the problems regularly experienced with traditional suitcases," said Diego Saez-Gil, co-founder and CEO of Bluesmart. "With today's sneak peek of the Bluesmart Check-in, we're once again alleviating some of travel's biggest aggravations and showing why it makes more sense to be a connected traveler in 2016."

Thanks to Bluesmart tracking, powered by GPS and 3G connectivity provided by telecom carrier Telefonica, the Bluesmart bags can be located anywhere in the world, even if it gets lost or rerouted internationally by the airlines. The weight sensor in the handle communicates with the mobile app to show how much the suitcase weighs. In addition, the app connects to the airlines' database to show whether baggage fees will be required. Travelers can also lock and unlock the suitcase remotely from the app (or by using a manual key). If the bag ever strays out of range, it automatically locks to prevent theft of the contents while it's out of your hands. Finally, the companion app provides valuable information about the luggage owner's journeys, such as miles traveled, airports visited and more (stay tuned for app updates!).

While Bluesmart announced its new Check-in product, the details of the design will stay a secret until the first bag rolls off the factory floor. You can expect to see elements of the first Bluesmart suitcase: hubless wheels, sleek lines, and high-quality materials will be adapted to meet the requirements of a larger checked bag. It's the ultimate companion piece to the Bluesmart Carry-on.

Bluesmart will start taking pre-orders for its Check-in bag in the spring of 2016 with the shipping date estimated for the fall.
