Samsung, it seems is working towards upstaging Apple next year. The company’s long-rumored foldable smartphone seems to be finally ready to be unveiled.

The Samsung Galaxy X has been rumored ever since Samsung showed off a foldable display at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 in Las Vegas. The buzz around the phone has gone stronger as it has surfaced in a certification at South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency in September. On Monday, a support page for the device appeared on Samsung’s Korean website. Both pages have the same model number for the phone — SM-G888N0, indicating that the device will be first launched in South Korea.

Although the support page does not give away any details about the yet to be launched device, it confirms its existence — the device could be launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy S9 in the first half of 2018.

Here are some of the rumored features of the device:

Flexible display: The Samsung Galaxy X is expected to have a foldable display. Samsung has showcased the technology back in 2013 and even in a 2014 advertisement. The company has been going toe to toe with Apple by unveiling features such as an edge to edge display on its devices. However, it needs to out-do the iPhone X’s features such as Face ID and a foldable display on one of its phones might be the way to do it.

Clamshell form factor: The device is expected to have the same form factor as the Samsung Galaxy S8, once it is stretched out.

8nm processor: Samsung is expected to employ advanced processors in its upcoming devices. The company launched its 10nm technology in partnership with Qualcomm this year, and is expected to advance it further over the years, right up to 4nm. However this shift is expected to occur in stages up till 2021. For 2018, it is expected to advance its processors up to 8nm. This means that its upcoming devices will be more performance efficient than even the S8 or Note 8.

Dual camera: The company is expected to endow its upcoming devices with dual cameras similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The company is expected to improve its ISOCELL technology to develop better depth of field in images. Samsung started providing this feature with the Note 4, but Apple has over the years developed better technology and provided users with a range of filters on its iPhone X. These filters can be used in both videos and images. Samsung is expected to include a combination of a 13-megapixel camera sensor and a 12-megapixel camera sensor to make this possible.

Android Oreo: If the device is launched in the first half of 2018, it will likely have Android Oreo out of the box, and get a future Android update by the end of the year.
