Kristoff St. John will be undergoing psychiatric treatment following his mental health scare.

Almost three years after his son, Julian, committed suicide, the “Young and the Restless” actor has still not been doing well. His wife, Mia, also set the record straight about her husband’s struggles to prevent the media from releasing false and fabricated stories about his personal issues.

On Sunday, reports swirled that St. John was brought to the hospital to seek psychiatric treatment after he threatened to kill himself with a gun. However, the actor’s wife said that there’s no truth to the reports.

“I want the world to know the truth about what is happening with Kristoff, because currently there is inaccurate and fabricated information being reported by certain media outlets. No parent should ever have to bury their child, and for those who do, it is a nightmare that haunts you forever. The death of our beloved son Julian, has taken a toll on both of us. He is an actor and while he may appear whole on the outside, his heart is broken. As a society, we need to start taking mental health seriously and realize that no one is immune,” she said.

The concerned wife continued by saying that her husband reached a breaking point last week. She also encouraged to help St. John heal and move forward. “Right now, what he needs is your thoughts and prayers,” she concluded.

St. John, who has been playing the role of Neil Winters in the hit CBS soap, has not been very active on social media recently either. But two weeks ago, he encouraged everyone to show their support for Mental Health Awareness.

In 2015, the actor also retweeted his wife’s post about finding justice for Julian’s death. According to Entertainment Tonight, Julian was found dead in his room at a mental health care facility in Long Beach, California in 2014. He was 24.

Shortly after, St. John and Mia filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the La Casa Psychiatric Health Facility claiming that the staff and nurses skipped their mandatory check-ins and observations of Julian. It was revealed at that time that Julian was on suicide watch and should have been checked every 15 minutes.
