Kota Kinabalu: A 34-year-old man was sentenced to five months jail by the Magistrate's Court here for damaging items in a mosque in Likas, here.Jobless Norhan Al Haikal admitted before Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus to committing mischief by breaking the door of the Nurul Aman mosque at Kg Cenderamata 2 and damaging a pallbearer at 12.40pm on Oct 17.The charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between a year and five years or fine or both on conviction.

Norhan requested for leniency while prosecuting officer Inspector Albert Basiri pressed for an appropriate sentence.
